Skycatcher
By the end of my trip, I decided to create an object that could contain the sky I saw during my journey inside the gallery space, an object that would only have sense in this exhibition. The idea of possessing the whole sky in my hand was the starting point, so I engraved all the constellations in a wooden box, lighting from inside just the stars that form the Milky Way, the most ancient map for the Camino de Santiago. The box is being lighted with the leftover of the batteries I used in my trip, to collect energy out of the sun, so when this energy will be exhausted, the box won’t light no more.
Special thanks to Eliseo Nicolas Alonso.
